New Zealand’s timber exports were down during the second quarter of 2001 at NZ$204.45m.

The total was NZ$7m lower than during the same quarter in 2000 when NZ$211.65m worth was exported. The most important market, the US, bought NZ$98.6m worth of Kiwi timber during the three-month period.

Australia, the second largest market for New Zealand timber, saw its imports fall by more than one-third to NZ$49m.
