A feasibility study into the potential for dry composite structural floor and wall assemblies using light steel and timber components has been published electronically.
The report, produced jointly by TRADA and the Steel Construction Institute (SCI), is titled “Lightweight steel/timber composite solutions: Information and guidance for new product development”. It will be available to TRADA members only via the askTRADA website and to SCI members through its Steelbiz website.
Designed as a ‘springboard’ for manufactutrers and building designers for the development of marketable, commercial products, the study proposes possible systems and demonstrates that they are structurally viable.
