Stewart Milne Timber Systems has risen to the challenge of presenting the feature which will enable visitors to see the actual build process.
“Usually timber frame buildings displayed at exhibitions are erected ahead of time,” said John Southam, exhibition director. “ At the Timber Show the ground floor will be built in advance so that related products from other exhibitors, such as cladding, joinery and wood flooring, can be fixed in place to provide examples of how the finished building might look.”
The structural floor and walling for the upper storey and the roof will be built during timed displays then dismantled ready for the next day.
Fifty companies and organisations are now signed up for the Timber Show, half of the 100 the organisers hope to attract.
Organisations attending include The Timber Trade Federation, British Woodworking Federation, Defra, the Institute of Wood Science, TRADA and Wood for Good. Companies include Arch Timber Protection, Progressive Solutions, Clearwood Joinery, Timbmet Silverman and Vandecasteele.
