The ship which spilled 20 bundles of Swedish sawn carcassing into the North Sea has now discharged its cargo at the Port of Shoreham.

The Norwegian-registered Sally, which lost 60 tonnes of deck cargo during heavy seas, had earlier reloaded at Immingham.

The Sally was carrying 3,326m³ of carcassing timber from six Swedish mills for three UK importers when it ran into trouble 55 miles due east of Lowestoft.

Meanwhile, the Dutch coastguard told TTJ that a barge tender with a cane had recovered all the spilled timber at sea. “It’s nice quality wood, but I do not know exactly what they’re going to do with it,” TTJ was told
