Local councillors have said 414 Timber and Fencing can stay at Briggens Home Farm, Stanstead Abbotts, but must reach agreement with planning officers over correcting an “adverse visual impact”.
A company spokesman said the row was over retrospective permission for alterations made to a cattle shed, barn and storage sheds when the business moved in three years ago. Much of the site was screened from the road and improvements had been suggested.
He said: “It seems that we have permission, we just have to sort out the planning conditions with the planning department. The councillors voted unanimously that we can stay.”
The company, which employs seven, specialises in fencing, sheds, decking and gazebos, and also provides a bespoke joinery service.
