Timbmet has tendered its resignation to the Timber Trade Federation, subject to a final decision by the Timbmet board later this year.
Chief executive officer Simon Fineman said: “We will be expressing our concerns with the federation over the coming months.”
He declined to elaborate on what those concerns were.
Mark O’Brien, head of public affairs at the TTF, said: “The federation will be meeting Timbmet’s senior management to listen to their concerns and it is hoped that through these discussions the company will reconsider its decision to leave membership.”
