Award-winning architect Alison Brooks has been named as the keynote speaker for TRADA’s In Touch with Timber conference in May.
Canadian-born Ms Brooks, who won the Stirling Prize (with two other architectural practices) in 2008, runs an 18-strong practice in Kentish Town.
She also won the Manser Medal in 2007 and the Stephen Lawrence Prize in 2006.
“Her impressive body of work is truly inspiring and her innovative use of timber in many of the projects undertaken will set the tenor of the day,” said Jeremy Vibert, TRADA’s head of marketing and information services.
Ms Brooks was appointed national panel member of the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment this month.
In Touch with Timber, now in its fifth year, will take place on May 19 at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, Westminster and is aimed at architects, engineers, specifiers and other construction industry professionals.
