A record level of enquiries has been received at the Trussed Rafter Association (TRA) office from companies looking to sign up to the organisation.

Latest additions to membership include Cheshire Trussed Rafters and Benfield ATT, Monmouthshire. Dunscar Timber Engineering, Minera Roof Trusses amd Arnold Laver Engineered Products Division joined the association late last year. Specialist insurance broker Layton Blackham Insurance Brokers has also become a member.

Association secretary Peter Grimsdale said: “A lot of companies are interested in the deal we have set up with an insurance broker which gives our membership very good rates, particularly on professional indemnity insurance.

“Also important is the fact that building authorities come to us for opinions and people know this is happening.

“We continue to inform non-members about what we are doing and one of our big initiatives is on health and safety.”

Mr Grimsdale said the TRA had forged a relationship with the Health and Safety Executive which now ensured that national decisions were made.
