A record number of members attended this year’s Trussed Rafter Association (TRA) AGM in Nottingham where significant industry developments were outlined by key speakers.
Engineering consultant Dr Luke Whale outlined pending amendments to UK and European legislation, explaining their likely affects on the industry and advising on future best practice, and David Goode, chairman of the TRA’s technical committee, briefed members on current and pending technical developments that will impact on the industry.
Patrick Martin, chair of the health and safety group, reported great progress. He said TRA’s commitment to health and safety was underlined by the fact that, during 2004, the group would continue to work in conjunction with the Health and Safety Executive to build on the industry’s safety record.
Guest speaker Philip Becker of TTL Chiltern closed the meeting with a discussion on key performance indicators in which he outlined the long-term benefits to members.
Wally Shaw was re-elected chairman for a second year running.
