The programme for TRADA‘s Timber Industry Conference 2005 has been finalised and will include a “clear summary” of the government’s position on sustainability.

The event, designed to raise the big issues facing the industry, will feature an address by government sustainability task force member Jiggy Lloyd on the evening of October 10.

Craig White of White Design will then give an architect’s view of wood and the timber industry.

On October 11, the Building Centre‘s research services manager Neil Martin will examine construction market trends, while BM TRADA‘s product certification manager Mark Wilkinson will detail how CE Marking is affecting the timber industry.

Wood. for good project manager John Fletcher will look at how the industry is meeting the sustainability agenda and BM TRADA timber product business manager Alasdair McGregor will give a chain of custody certification update. TRADA Technology’s head of timber technology Dr Paul Newman will wrap things up by talking on off-site manufacturing trends.

The event will be held at the RIBA award-winning Kindersley Centre near Newbury.
