Premier Forest Products has become the first company to be granted a “TRADA Technology Assessed” licence for marketing literature relating to its Sainty structural plywood.

The achievement, confirmed by TRADA Technology, follows TRADA’s launch of the assessment service at this year’s Timber Expo at Coventry in response to concerns about difficulties in establishing the quality of plywood from China.

After investigation, TRADA verified that structural plywood manufactured by the Chinese Sainty factory carried the BM TRADA Q-Mark third party product certification and that the product marketing literature’s outline of what was covered by the Q-mark was accurate.

TRADA also verified that the product was available with FSC certification.

Companies who successfully undergo verification are issued with a licence for two years and can use the TRADA Technology Assessed logo on the assessed literature.
