TRADA is on the lookout for inspiring applications of timber engineering in a new competition open to university students.
The challenge, being run in cojunction with wood. for good and the Institution of Structural Engineers, has a £1,000 top prize and £500 for the runner-up.
Entries, which should be designed in accordance with Eurocodes, can be applications of timber engineering in private homes and offices, public buildings, interesting structures such as bridges and facilities for sporting events, or even restoration and conservation projects. Environmental impact, durability, protection, product specification and economics should all be addressed.
