Richard Horton, Travis Perkins’ head of transport development, said Masternaut’s vehicle tracking technology had helped the company achieve a 70% daily reduction in vehicle idling as a result of greater vehicle utilisation visibility.
Masternaut’s real-time, web-based fleet management solution includes monitoring the Power Take-Off (PTO) usage on vehicles (classed as good idling) and non-PTO idling (bad idling).
Travis Perkins managers can access the system via the company’s intranet interface and drive fleet performance improvements in their regions.
Meanwhile, Leeds-based Masternaut has completed the acquisition of E. Novation BTC, which its says will create a unified solution for telematics and tachograph functionality.
E. Novation BTC’s digital tachograph solutions enable vehicle data to be transmitted wirelessly, as well as archived and analysed, while monitoring European toll charges and vehicle costs.
Masternaut says it will now be able to gives customers multiple services via one connected platform.
Fleet management and driving-time compliance will be unified into a single hardware unit, with instant, automatic and remote access to data via wireless transfer.
