Travis Perkins (TP) has further positioned itself to meet the growing environmental agenda by opening its third eco-centre.

The company has also produced a guide to the government’s Code for Sustainable Homes.

The new Leamington Spa eco-centre showcases green materials including certified timber, as well as working displays and demonstrations of renewable energy, such as solar systems and air source heat pumps.

“The demand to use renewable technologies and carbon reducing products is still very high within the trade,” said group environmental manager Jez Cutler.

Eco-centres are already open at Chelmsford and Bournemouth, with further openings planned this year.

TP’s new Code for Sustainable Homes guide gives an overview of the Code’s scoring system and information on selected products to help builders meet the requirements.

The guide will be available at TP branches throughout the UK.
