Harlow Timber Systems, a member of the Trussed Rafter Association, secured a £28,000 contract to design, produce and install 100 trusses in eight different designs for the music school, part of Loughborough Endowed Schools partnership.
Wolf software and jointing plates were used to produce extra deep rafters where 291mm and 147mm deep sections are spliced together to accommodate unusually high loadings.
Project architects Stephen George & Partners said trussed rafters were specified for speed of erection, convenience and lack of site storage space.
