According to the TTF, independent accreditation body Accreditation Services International has received a number of complaints regarding the misuse of the FSC logo and abuse of the FSC scheme in China and, following a meeting between the two bodies, the decision was taken to issue the advice.

“All members are advised to check the forest source of their FSC suppliers in China and get copies of the relevant Forest Management Certification for the FSC plywood products offered,” states the TTF’s advice.

“If this information is not available then the product should not be considered genuine FSC and should not be purchased.”

The TTF also advises its members who are unable to acquire the relevant supporting documents from suppliers offering certified products to report them directly to the FSC.
