Demand for Canadian Super E energy efficient timber framed housing is soaring, with UK builders reportedly doubling, trebling and quadrupling their orders.
The Super E programme, which involves partnerships between Canadian and UK construction companies, has seen demand soar by 740% since the first British home was launched in April 2002.
Capital Homes has praised Super E’s fast build times and energy efficiency. Environ Sunley has acclaimed the health and environmental benefits and is building an additional 63 of the homes at its two sites in West Malling.
DGS Construction Ltd is the latest UK firm to join the programme and has teamed up with Canadian builder DAC International to build Cornwall’s first Super E home.
Oliver Drerup, of Canada Mortgage Housing Corporation, said: “We are confident that many of the techniques we have developed in Canada will continue to be adopted by other builders throughout the UK.”
