The largest ever parties of successful graduates from SCA Timber Supply’s training courses will visit Sweden in March to consolidate their new-found knowledge.
Around 19 trainees from 11 companies across the UK will be the first to visit, followed the next weekend by 16 candidates from the Buildbase builders merchant group.
During the trips the trainees will be presented with their Institute of Wood Science Timber Studies Award certificates, will see harvesting in progress in SCA‘s 2.6 million ha of Forest Stewardship Council certified forests, and visit SCA’s sawmills and Bogrundet tree nursery.
Rob Simpson, SCA Timber Supply’s managing director, said: “It’s significant that amongst these groups we have impressive representation from the engineered timber products and builders merchants sectors, demonstrating the growth of timber expertise in these areas.”
