The UK Timber Frame Association (UKTFA) has relaunched its website (www.uktfa.com) as part of its efforts to establish timber frame as the “construction method of choice” for a building industry focused on shrinking its carbon impact.
The new site centres on the sustainable benefits of timber frame and also details the UKTFA’s SiteSafe fire and health and safety scheme and its new Fabric First promotional campaign.
The latter stresses the environmental merits of prioritising the energy efficiency of the building envelope before investing in potentially expensive renewable energy technology.
There is also a new members’ section on the website and redesigned search facility intended to “make it easier to access information relevant to the individual user”.
“We have streamlined a large amount of the content from our previous website, and as a result it is quicker loading and more accessible, with bite size, yet informative chunks,” said UKTFA chairman Geoff Arnold.
“It will provide us with a great platform to communicate the benefits of timber frame and show off the work of our membership. ”
