A boardwalk in the centre of a new exhibit at the Eden Project in Cornwall has been created from an environmentally-friendly wood-plastic composite, Strandex.
Up to 90% of recycled material can be used in the manufacture of Strandex, which is made up of 70% woodwaste and 30% plastic. The material can then be extruded into many different components.
All sorts of reclaimed and waste materials including recycled waste wood, sawdust, field grown crops, and particle board waste can be used in association with recycled polymers to produce profiles for use in applications ranging from dado rails to decking.
