UPM-Kymmene has developed its United Sawmills product range into five groups under its new WISA trademark.
Marketing director Kjell Nylunmd says the move will clarify and rationalise the marketing of the products. ‘The fact is that sawn timber has, as a rule, been marketed only with shipping marks and the sawmills’ own names,’ he said.
The company aims to offer more special products and further processed wood products than previously, in addition to sawn timber. The new groups are: WISA-Wood; WISA-Plus; WISA-Lam; WISA-Pro; and WISA-Strong.
Meanwhile, the company opened a new research and development centre in Lahti, Finland, on April 26.
