A wood procurement company has been established by UPM-Kymmene in the Baltics.
UPM-Kymmene Forest AS, based in Tallinn, Estonia, will be responsible for wood chip and pulpwood deliveries from and via the Baltics to UPM-Kymmene’s Finnish mills.
It will also deal with birch log deliveries to the company’s plywood mill FSS Plywood AS in Otepää, Estonia. The mill currently uses about 60,000m3 of raw wood annually.
UPM-Kymmene estimates that the fibre raw material deliveries exported from the Baltic countries to Finland will increase by more than one million m3 annually in the next few years.
