The line, comprising a rotary cutter and dryer, increases the plants capacity by 20,000m3 a year, taking total annual output up to 100,000m3.
The expansion cost €5m and the new line employs 30 people. According to UPM, it will improve its ability to supply “customised” products to the vehicle and flooring sectors.
Besides plywood, UPM also produces veneer and sawn products in Russia and has a total workforce in the country of 1,400.
