Vetrotech Saint-Gobain has announced it will now produce the full range of Contraflam products in the UK.

A Coventry-based facility, which also now houses the company’s UK sales team, will make the fire resistant glass in a move designed to shorten the lead times for UK customers.

“There is continued growth in demand for non-wired fire resistant glass with high impact safety requirements within the UK market,” said Andrew Lake, Vetrotech Saint-Gobain UK general manager.

Being in the UK, he added, allowed the company to provide customers with high levels of product, service and delivery.

When exposed to fire, an intumescent layer within Contraflam turns opaque and expands to form an insulating heat shield to achieve fire resistance classificiations ranging from 30-120min.
