Siberian larch cladding has been used for the exterior and interior of the new home of Coventry City Football Academy.

Birmingham-based Vincent Timber produced around 20,000m of 21x145mm strips with channel/shiplap profile for the Alan Higgs Centre.

Darren Powell, key account manager at Vincent Timber, said: “A major requirement was that the timber should be dense and hard to resist impact – not only against the risk of vandalism on the outside but also because the cladding is used in part of the sports hall.”

The timber, which will be allowed to weather naturally, was treated with Arch Timber Protection’s Non-Com Exterior fire retardant.
