More than 170 delegates from 10 countries attended the second Certification Watch Conference held in Montreal earlier this month.
The theme was Forest Certification and Corporate Responsibility and delegates heard from organisations such as Home Depot, Westvaco, IKEA and Canfor as well as representatives of certification programmes and experts in forest certification.
Panel presentations and discussion took place in four main areas – corporate responsibility, comparing certification systems, certification schemes’ developments and forest products procurements policies.
