Weinig has expanded its Chinese factory to meet strong demand from the Chinese wood processing industry.
The production area of the factory in Yantai, Shangdong province has been expanded by around 800m² to 12,000m².
Weinig said Unicontrol 6 window machines will in future be made at the facility. All machines manufactured in Yantai are for the Chinese domestic market.
Weinig’s main Tauberbischofsheim plant will supply precision parts such as cutter spindles to Yantai.
“This means that the expansion of the plant in Yantai will not compete in any way with the production facility in Tauberbischofsheim,” said Weinig chairman Wolfgang Poschl.
Weinig opened the Yantai factory in 1995.
