Westgate Joinery has secured one of its first orders for “A” energy-rated windows in Accoya modified wood, to be supplied to the Belle Toute Lighthouse near Eastbourne.
The EcoA flush casement window has an energy index factor of 4kWh/m2/year, which Westgate claims is currently one of the best performances for any timber window registered under the BFRC energy ratings scheme.
The windows supplied to the lighthouse will carry a 50-year guarantee against rot, with a 60-year life expectancy (BRE).
Factory finishing involves a three coat translucent or opaque system, which Westage says will last 12 years before any site re-coating.
