Weyerhaeuser Products Ltd is primed and ready to take advantage of the construction opportunities afforded by the 2012 London Olympics, according to marketing and sales director Geoff Rhodes.
He was speaking to guests at a reception at London’s Building Centre, the current centrepiece of which is a scale model of central London highlighting future development – including the Olympic Village and various stadia.
“Weyerhaeuser’s facility in Clonmel, manufacturing the Medite range of MDF products, has had continued capital investment in recent years and now has the capacity to grow its output again in the next 12 months by another 12-15% to meet the continued demand for our technically advanced product range,” said Mr Rhodes.
“All of us in the international timber industry and related trades have the opportunity and responsibility to play our part in creating ‘the sustainable Games’ and with this focus in mind we should all be able to anticipate substantial business to business activity and scope.”
