Weyerhaeuser has published an annual report on its social and environmental performance for the first time, following United Nations-backed Global Reporting Initiative guidelines.
Called the Roadmap for Sustainability, the report includes information not previously released to the media – a sign that the company is moving towards greater transparency in its business.
Improvements in the company’s performance during 2002 are documented, including practising sustainable forestry, reducing pollution, conserving natural resources and conducting business ethically.
