The company maintains that carrying the FSC logo will make the product still better placed to “meet the demands of today’s environmentally-conscious end users”. The certified plywood is being made by its Estonian mill.
UPM made clear that its decision to use the FSC logo on WISA-Birch did not diminish its support for the PEFC certification scheme.
“We aim to increase the use of certified wood in our products and support all credible forest certification scheme, such as FSC and PEFC,” said the company.
