Educational furniture manufacturer Witley Jones is looking to invest in a second SCM CNC machine.

The Stourport-on-Severn based company, which makes desks, chairs, storage units and dormitory equipment, decided to futher improve its manufacturing capabilities after the installation of Cabinet Vision software and a first SCM helped grow business by 50% during the past two years.

“The benefits of single data entry and automatic generation of machining programmes provide is with a major advantage,” said managing director Chris Jones. “A second machine would add further strings to our bow as we continue to grow.”

Mr Jones said the company aimed to double its turnover in the next five years by increasing market share in the state schooling and higher educational sectors.

“The application of advanced CAD/CAM technology at the heart of our operations makes that entirely achievable.”
