Interpellets 2007, the international exhibition for the wood pellet industry, is to take place in Stuttgart on October 10-12, with representatives from across the production and supply chains showcasing the latest products and services in the sector.
According to event organisers Solar Promotion, the wood pellets market is “growing continually” in Germany, with 1.3 million tonnes of wood pellets due to be produced by 44 plants during 2007. Furthermore, 13 wood pellet production plants are being built or planned in Germany.
This compares with 290,000 tonnes of pellets produced by 28 plants in 2005 and equates to a four-fold increase in wood pellet production in Germany in the last two years.
As such, Solar Promotion is expecting 150 exhibitors and more than 6,000 visitors to take part in Interpellets 2007, with around 400 delegates due to attend the 7th Pellets Industry Forum, which is to take place immediately before Interpellets 2007 on October 9-10.
The forum will address a number of topics related to the wood pellets industry, including the cross-border trade of materials to other European nations and possible international expansion.
