More than 800 people attended the first West’s Wood Show run by Petworth-based timber merchant and fencing contractor WL West & Sons Ltd.
The two-day event, aimed at developing the retail side of the company’s business, featured woodturning demonstrations and stands manned by West’s suppliers.
Woodturners Stuart Mortimer, Gary Rance and Les Thorne showed their skills, while Jack Hill demonstrated how to make a chair and Derek Champion displayed his stick-making prowess. The Solent Guild of Carvers and Surrey Association of Woodturners also attended.
WL West said it could repeat the event next year.
