The "Wow I made that!" social media campaign has started on the social media sites, aimed at 14 to 19-year-olds and their advisers.
The campaign Facebook page offers guidance and support to school leavers, interactive quiz, advice videos and the opportunity to see current apprentices’ case studies.
Tom McKillop, a 21-year-old apprentice at Tompkins Wood, inspired the campaign when he said he loved to stand back at the end of a day’s work and say: "I made that".
Most joinery apprenticeships last two to three years, with the apprentice gaining at least a Level 2 NVQ or SVQ on completion.
