About the opportunity

Our friendly team of experts is looking for a new Certification officer and Senior Certification Officer to support its work as an international forest management and timber industry certification body. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team managing a portfolio of forestry and timber industry clients from across the World.  You will benefit from our years of experience and expertise in forest management and chain of custody certification and our in-depth knowledge of sustainable forestry and timber regulations and practises.  

About the role
As a key member of our forestry team, you will be responsible for guiding new and existing forest management and timber industry clients through the certification process in a timely manner, providing advice and guidance and making recommendations as necessary.  You will understand the requirements of accredited schemes such as the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC™) and ensure these are met in all aspects of your work. This is a client-facing role based in Bristol, UK with the opportunity for international travel.

About you
To be successful in this role you must be educated to degree level or equivalent in Forestry, Wood Science, Ecology, Environment or related subjects. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, computer literacy and a confident approach to service delivery and the ability to provide solutions within tight deadlines are essential.

You will have proven knowledge and experience of forest management, the timber industry or related disciplines. Auditing, audit skills and experience working with quality management systems, alongside substantial administrative and customer care experience will complement the role. It would also be advantageous to have fluency in a second language.
