Finnforest’s SoundBar flooring system has achieved Robust Detail approval, in line with Approved Document E of the Building Regulations.
SoundBar uses Finnforest’s engineered timber I-joist, Finnjoist, with an anhydrite screed from Lafarge Gyvlon.
It has already been recognised by the National House-Building Council and CERAM, as well as passing BM TRADA Technical Assessment TA-001/2006.
“The peace of mind provided by a Robust Detail also brings commercial benefits,” said Finnforest’s building solutions director Kevin Riley.
“When specifying the SoundBar system, the housebuilder does not need to worry about waiting for pre-completion sound-testing results, thereby avoiding these costly delays and associated uncertainties.”
Finnforest said noise reduction offered by the SoundBar system enabled developers to build a “shallower compartment floor than the current E-FT-1 Robust Detail 4 layer systems, or even beam and block flooring”.
