The availability of Lyptus branded eucalyptus wood products in the UK has been increased following the appointment of Woodlink UK as the latest official distributor.
PEFC-certified Lyptus sawn lumber, produced in Brazil by Weyerhaeuser, will be offered by Woodlink from its bases in the north-west and south-east, with full UK coverage. The new deal also means Lyptus will be available by the individual pack.
Woodlink UK partner Cyril Williams said the environmental credentials of Lyptus were invaluable in the current market as sustainability was proving a key decider in many construction projects.
Lyptus is produced from plantation trees and may be harvested within 14-16 years – compared with the 60 years it takes many tropical species to mature. All Lyptus lumber is surfaced before grading.
