The 20th TTJ Awards 2016 will take place on 30th September at The Brewery London. The awards recognise the achievements of the Timber Trade industry in 2015. Companies can nominate in 6 categories and vote in 7 categories including two categories which are awarded to individuals, and these will be awarded by the judging panel without prior nomination. The six TTJ Awards which are judged by independent panels will be open for nominations shortly.
The six judged categories are:
This award is open to any company or advertising agency that has undertaken a campaign promoting a timber or related product or service and will be judged on persuasiveness, effectiveness and style.
This award is open to any company in the timber and associated industries that can demonstrate some form of improvement in environmental performance, from certification to the development of products, processes or services with particular environmental benefit.
This award is open to both individual products that take engineered wood to a new technical level and open up new market opportunities, and to particularly interesting, technically demanding or ground-breaking applications in joinery, manufacturing or construction.
This award recognises the skills development of individual employees within the timber industry and is split into two categories - entrants to the industry and more senior staff who have undertaken continuing professional development.
This category is open to timber companies and organisations with an online presence and will be judged on design, content, user friendliness, commercial effectiveness and use of technology.
A) Innovative Product Development
In this category some aspects of the whole or part of a product needs to demonstrate that is is innovative in its sector.
B) Innovative University Timber Research
The award is open to 3rd Year undergraduate or Post graduate (Masters or PhD work). In this category some aspect of the whole or part of a research project needs to demonstrate that is it innovative and will have a measurable impact upon the timber sector.
