StairCon software has allowed Westfield-based Woodbase Joiners Ltd to improve efficiency in its production of stairs aimed at the loft conversion, extension and new-build markets.
StairCon was installed at the companies manufacturing facility as part of a move into CNC machining.
Managing director Simon Bartlett said that the technology had allowed the company to produce staircases “very quickly” compared to traditional methods and that the company had seen immediate benefits.
“We knew that we needed to buy a computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacture package and move into CNC machining because of the way the market was changing,” said Mr Bartlett.
“When you first start it is hard to believe they can be that good, but they are spot on to within tenths of a millimetre.”
Mr Bartlett added that the ability to produce 3D images had helped customers visualise their staircases.
StairCon is distributed in the UK by Consultec Systems, which is owned by Eleco plc.
