Russian Ilim group first to receive European Legal Source Certificate
26 February 2020Ilim group became the first company in Russia to receive the European Legal Source certificate. It will allow Ilim to access the European market without additional confirmation of the legality and compliance of the raw materials.
“As the company looks to increase exports to Europe the certificate will help the transparency of all processes in the company from procurement to delivery. Certification according to European standards will further strengthen trust between us, as well as allow traders to reduce the cost of confirming the legality of the raw materials from which our products are made," said Ksenia Sosnina general director of Ilim Group.
In 2019, Ilim group received PEFC certification for its supply chain. The company leases forest with an area of 7.6 million hectares certified to FSC and PEFC standards.
