Leading library furniture manufacturer and commercial fit-out specialist Point Eight Ltd has installed two wood waste heaters from Wood Waste Technology Ltd.
The WT15 warm air units at Point Eight’s Dudley factory take all the company’s wood off-cuts and each produces around 145kW/hr (500,000Btu/hr) of heat.
Since installation the company has estimated annual skip savings of around £13,000 and about £7,000 on fuel bills.
Based in a built-up area, Point Eight had been concerned about pollution from burning wood waste but Wood Waste Technology’s WT range is certified to be installed in clean air zones without the use of an afterburner.
Both units were installed in one day.
“The machines are a real asset,” said Point Eight’s logistics manager Paul Bailey.
“These heaters will pay for themselves in about 12 months, and save us around £100,000 over five years. The savings on gas and skip charges mean we’ll be able to buy another CNC machine for the workshop.”
