John Brash has combined two of its decking products to help Bristol Zoo satisfy health and safety regulations around some of its key attractions.
Decksure Premier decking was combined with 4,000 linear metres of JB Antislip Plus around the lake neighbouring the zoo’s Monkey Jungle and Gorilla Island attractions.
Bristol Zoo required the solution to offer high levels of grip and durability as it is a high traffic area and is prone to become slippery.
“The decking under the tree areas often becomes particularly slippery due to a combination of rain and leaf sap,” said zoo estates manager Dave Harley.
“John Brash has supplied a really effective solution with JB Antislip Plus and we are planning to install more around other primate enclosures.”
Bristol Zoo attracts around 500,000 visitors a year so health and safety issues “are paramount”, added Mr Harley.
