He joins the business from international automotive distributor and retailer Inchcape plc.
Wolseley UK managing director Steve Ashmore said Mr Ronchetti was an experienced, operationally focused FTSE finance director, with a track record of driving excellent financial results and delivering successful acquisitions and change programmes.
Mr Ronchetti succeeds Derek Harding, who left Wolseley to join Senior plc.
