Operational efficiency has been improved at the new Arnold Laver Timber World Call and Collect Centre in Sheffield with the acquisition of two Combilift multi-directional forklift trucks.

Operations and logistics manager David Copley said: “The combination of trucks we used in the past meant double handling goods to get them from our delivery trucks and into storage areas. The Combilifts work outside, cope effortlessly with the inclines on our site, and easily offload and manoeuvre 6.5m lengths of timber in narrow aisles in the warehouse.”

Arnold Laver had hydraulic fork spreaders and extra high masts fitted to the Comblifts enabling it to increase the height of its racking from 4.5m to 7m.

The LPG powered Combilifts mean there is no more downtime due to battery charging on electric forklifts while the carousel steering facility enables the trucks to work in confined spaces improving offloading and picking of products.
