A Broadstairs-based furniture manufacturer is aiming to boost its edgebanding capacity this autumn as part of its on-going machinery investment programme.
David Bailey Furniture Systems’ planned replacement of an old, existing edgebander will be the latest addition in a technology spend totalling more than £130,000 during the past two years.
Homag UK has supplied David Bailey with several machines for its production of furniture aimed at the general healthcare and educational sectors.
A Ligmatech MPH 500 carcase press is the most recent addition, featuring a turntable loading system to improve throughput speeds and help operators and assembly technicians. A similar outfeed system may also be fitted.
Other Homag-supplied technology includes a specially-adapted Weeke BHC 550 CNC machining centre, a Brandt edgebander and a Brandt PF20 static postformer.
