Chair frame manufacturer Barton Products is one of the first UK volume users of the new Woodpecker Premium ground teeth bandsaw blades.

Barton, which also makes components for the furniture industry, tested the blades on its 10 Wadkin bandsaws from LS Starrett in a bid to boost quality and reduce machinery downtime.

Barton’s mill manager Roy Maddison said: ‘Since converting to Woodpecker, operators have reported the ability to profile at higher speeds, processing two components at a time while achieving much longer periods between replacing blades.’

The ground and induction hardened ‘skip and hook’ tooth design can cut any wood.
