Bespoke kitchen and bedroom furniture manufacturer Benton has ditched manual jointing of in-frame doors in favour of the Hoffmann system.

The Highbridge-based company invested in a Hoffmann PU2 free-standing keyway router with pneumatic workpiece and a Mörso guillotine to replace the laborious manual process.

The PU2 router routs out slots for serrated Hoffmann dovetail keys to create secure joints, while the guillotine cuts out the haunch joints on the outside and internal components of the frames. Benton machines the main section of the joints on a CNC centre programmed to adjust automatically to different frame dimensions.
