Growing business for Briman Windows, Doors & Staircases has enabled it to invest in an Iveco 7-tonne curtainsider truck for the delivery of larger bespoke joinery items.

The Bridgwater-based company had its most successful year in 2002, with 23% growth on the previous year and £900,000 turnover.

The new truck allows it to deliver an increasing volume of larger items including glass screens, oversized windows for barn conversions and specialist refurbishment projects, plus complex dual and multi-flight staircases.

Briman’s rising number of customers in the south-east and London means it is having to make deliveries further afield. The Iveco’s larger capacity creates fewer individual trips, resulting in greater distribution efficiency.

Director Brian Hucker said: “The new curtainsider truck not only provides us with a larger delivery capacity but is more flexible, allowing items to be easily unloaded from any part of the vehicle without having to unload and reload items.”
