Cargo Pallets has invested in a new Stenner ST100R Resaw to help significantly increase production of sawn timber.

The Middlesbrough-based supplier of pallets and crates for the packing industry said rising timber prices had emphasised the need to improve performance.

It opted for a Stenner after seeing a working demonstration at Daltons’ Nottingham showroom. Cargo said its decision was influenced by the Stenner’s combination of high performance without the need for a floor pit.

Cargo also took the opportunity to replace its old cross-cutting machine with a new Maggi 700S radial arm saw which admits blades up to 500mm in diameter, enabling the cutting of large timber sections.

Cargo’s Neil McCutcheon said the Stenner has been used even more than anticipated, sizing all types of timber and enabling the company to maintain good lead times.
